Nike Air Max Command - Panthers for your feet
The Nike Air Max Command first released a few years ago, spawned from the Nike Air Skyline, which while being an original model overtly references several of the more well-known models from the AM stable.
New model Nike casual sneakers face an uphill battle to gain critical acceptance/market share in a landscape dominated by well-known and fiendishly-demanded retro classics like the AF1, AM90, AM95, BW etc. Realising this, Nike has equipped the Command with enough firepower to hold it's when things get hairy, while also giving it an understated, original and unique style which should help the Command to someday establish it's very own fanbase. Respect-worthy features include oversized air unit, mesh toe with a stone-cold grey-fade, leather highlights and a chunky rubberised swoosh.
I am a big fan of these joints. The colourway is a stone-cold killer and the black-grey fade really sends a warning to tha haters. Combined with the tumbled synthetic :( leather, nubuck and mesh upper and the gigantic bubble, these shoes are like menacing, brooding Panthers for your feet.
I haven't seen any new CW's of the Command for a minute, so let's just hope they haven't gone the way of the Skyline or AM Classic and suffered an untimely, ill-fated demise.
Like and link, homies!
